FIXED MY WEBSITE... and pizza... and scary german guy

I spent a few hours today shrinking all the file sizes of my animation files on my website. If anyone wants to check it out... here's the site... www.alexfleisig.com ... Most of the movie files download within a couple of seconds now. So if you want to watch some Sheen shots and you don't want to wait for crazy download times, well now you don't have to. The ant bully demo takes a bit longer... a little under a minute. Also, last night I had the best pizza ever, at some place called gordon birsch. Its a brewery with lots of good beers, and ridiculously awesome food. Check it out if you're ever near the bay bridge in san fran. I went with PJ and Scott and the Puhalas. We also went and looked at seals at pier 39 and to some place where some rich old guy's house burned down, and there was this creepy german guy that we thought might murder PJ when he went off into the woods to pee. the end

here's a funny japanese commercial for the new final fantasy game

and here's the trailer for the game.
I'm a big fan of the more cartoony final fantasy games,
and I don't usually like the androgenous realistic wierd
characters in these new ones, but it looks pretty fun.

here's some gameplay

and here's one coming out for the nintendo DS
that has that fun old cartoony style

Tony Jay Died

One of my all time favorite voice actors died on thursday. I always secretly hoped I'd one day get to animate to his voice. Well, maybe not secretly. I remember when I was working on the jimmy neutron show I kept mentioning his name to my animation supervisors and telling them they should get the nickelodeon people to make him the voice of one of the villains. But alas, it was not to be. Some of the voices he did, was the narrator in world of warcraft... the bad guy Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame... the insane asylum guy from Beauty and the Beast... Chairface Chippendale in The Tick, Megabyte from Reboot... Voice of supreme being in Time Bandits... Shere Khan from Tailspin... he played Anubis (egyptian god of Death) in an awesome episode of Gargoyles... and he was a bunch of voices in one of my favorite old games... Kings Quest 6. Oh and he was the middle giant head at the end of MY STEPMOTHER IS AN ALIEN. But that's not really a voice acting job. He was actually physically in that one.
Anyway, he was an awesome voice actor, and had one of the most memorable and powerful cartoon voices ever.

here's his IMDB profile, where you can see every voice he's ever done, except for Tailspin, cause they don't have that listed, but I looked it up just to make sure.

and here's the article about his death

my old student work

I was backing up some files on my computer at home, and I found some of my old college animations. These are from back in the year 2000. Watch them if you think your eyes can handle the bad animation. The link is on the front page of my website. http://alexfleisig.com/

welcome to pixar

today pixar had a welcome to pixar evening for all the new people. they fed us FREE tacos and burritos, and shook our hands and said hello to us. I partook in the making and eating of one fine burrito. It was good.

DNA is DEAD :(

DNA is DEAD. My wonderful animation studio place has died. In 2 weeks DNA will cease to exist except for D and A, john davis and keith alcorn, my two former bosses. In 2 weeks they will be the only two people left there. They were two very nice people, and its really sad to see their nice company go down in a horrible blazing inferno of death. Crappy. Maybe one day they will be able to get the company going again.

taladega nights adventures

yesterday I finally went to see taladega nights. Its a really good movie with some moments that will make you laugh until your stomach bleeds. Also, make sure to stay after the credits. Everyone should know that at any silly comedy, there is usually something funny after the credits. I tried to tell patrick as he got up to leave the theatre. I said, "patrick, there might be something after the credits." And patrick turns to me and says, " there won't be anything after the credits, alex... stop being such a dumbass." Well usually I am a dumbass, but this time was different, because I stayed in that theatre and long and behold, after the credits was more yummy movie goodness. People really should listen to me more... because every once in a while I'm actually right.

I made a new drawing for the Fantastic 4 drawer geeks thing.
This is officially my first image post on my brand new blog.
One day I will learn how to post video and then you'll all be in big trouble.
You know who you are.

yesterday I had the best food ever

The puhalas and I ate at this amazing restaurant in San Fran last night. It was some german place that took two hours to get a table, but oh my god, it was worth it. Never have I tasted anything better. Except that time the other day when I had a pb&j. Man, that was a good pb&j. So, I don't remember the name of the restaurant or where it is exactly. If you want to find it, just eat at all the german restaurants in SF until you have the best meal of your life. There can't be that many of them.

Um... does this thing work

okay here's my first ever blog post... someone will have to teach me how to use this thing, and how to put those funny google videos up like funny andrew does.
Um... Today I woke up and took a shower and brushed my teeth. Oh wait I didn't brush my teeth yet, but don't worry, I'm going to go do that right now.
Um... I just heard a train go by. I'm going to go buy some comics now.

that is all
