music

I don't know if many of you know about my little music hobby...
anyway, I have some new songs up on my website...
if you listen to them, just make sure to use headphones...
cause they don't sound good on speakers...
and also you need to turn the volume up pretty loud...
sorry... I don't have the greatest recording equipment...
here's the links... hope you enjoy them...

CONAN the BARBARIAN and scottie

Recently I read these 3 graphic novels. Really amazing stuff. Awesome writing, beautiful fully painted art all the way through. I would highly recommend picking them up, even if you think you don't like the whole, "conan the barbarian" thing... this feels like such a fresh take on it, and it really is some of the best writing and art I've ever seen in a comic. So check it out. Here's the titles in order... Conan Volume 1: The Frost Giant's Daughter And Other Stories ...Conan Volume 2: The God In The Bowl And Other Stories ...Conan Volume 3: The Tower Of The Elephant And Other Stories...

ooo also... one of my favorite artists, scottie young, just started penciling for New Xmen #38... and the stuff rocks... here's a few pics I found online

First few hours in Paris

When I got to the hotel in Paris, they told me my room wouldn't be ready for about 5 hours... which is not a fun thing to hear after being on a plane for 13 hours. So, despite being in a horrible state of exhaustion, I did my first bit of random wandering around the city. Here are some pictures from the first part of my paris adventure.

TIRED and SLEEPY

my hotel was right near this ARC DE TRIUMPH thing... 5 different french people told me five different ways to pronounce it... each of them convinced it was the correct way... if you've ever had art history then I'm sure you had a question about this on a test

they made this statue of some french guy who liked to walk... he was famous for it I geuss

there's lots of pretty buildings in Paris... almost too many pretty buildings... hmmm
I quickly learned that people drive cars in Paris... I drive a car as well... I imediately knew I would have much in common with these frenchies

getting sleepier

I'm pretty sure this means "THE GRAND PALACE"... don't quote me on that though

a french lion made of rock

ooo ooo... that's one of the things I came here to see

there it is again... but this time... further away

the river seine... i think I spelled that right... by this point I was going inSEINE with sleepiness... ba dum ching

lots of bicycles in paris... no muppets riding bycycles though

I think it took me took me about 20 minutes to walk from where I took this picture to that building... I think that's the building where napolean is buried. But it cost money to go see his tomb... and I didn't even know the guy.

napolean encased in carbonite

I stopped in to faint from from exhaustion... maybe they could lay me to rest right next to mr bonepart... I probably spelled that wrong too

TEAM FORTRESS VIDEO

For anybody that hasn't seen it yet, here is a new video Valve put out for team fortress. I think Aaron Halifax... a guy that used to work for Blue Sky... did the first really long shot. There's alot of really great animation in this. I can't wait for this game.

PICTURES FROM AMSTERDAM

Here's some more pictures from my European Extraveganza. I took a 4 hour train from paris to amsterdam, hung out with my friend, "International Richard", in amsterdam for 3 1/2 hours and then took a 4 hour train back to paris. Perhaps not the greatest plan... but it was a plan nonetheless.

a pretty river runs through amsterdam... its probably called the amsterdamian river

there was a big carnival/fair thing at the square... good cheesy amsterdamian fun

its INTERNATIONAL RICHARD... drinking HEINEKIN, which is made by AMSTERDAMIANS

its me and INTERNATIONAL RICHARD... Richard used to work with me at DNA in texas. Now he lives in Amsterdamia, his birth place where he was born and birthed into the world... the world of amsterdam.

wierd hair lady

this statue attacked me for no reason

turns out that statue was part of an army of statues built to recreate one of renoirs famous paintings... um... I think it was renoir... my art history is a little rusty... mrs whatsherface would be really disapointed with me

this is the first and only subway in amsterdam... international richard said it was just recently built... built on the blood and sweat of amsterdamian workers

the truth comes out

I discovered a shocking truth today!!! Youngjae and Tina Turner are one and the same!!!

FOOD I ATE ON MY TRIP TO PARIS and the UK

I was very excited about eating the food in France... I'd heard so many great things about it... unfortunately most restaurants and cafes don't cater very well to vegetarians... so I ate alot of bread and cheese and really good deserts... When I went to Scotland though I got all my favorite old UK sandwiches, like Brie and Cranberry, the BK bean and cheese burger, and veggie hagaas... my camera ran out of juice in the UK, so there's not many UK food pictures.

wine in front of the eiffel tower... my hotel was right near here... the wine in paris is great, but I wouldn't say its better then the wine I've had in Northern California.

burger king in london... they have this ridiculously good vegetarian bean and cheese burger... I've only ever seen it in the UK... please god, make burger king bring it to america

iron bru... this is mostly just a scottish soda... they say there's 2 spoonfuls of sugar in each can... and kids who drank this from a young age pretty much were gauranteed to have bad teeth... but man does this stuff taste awesome

an egg salad bagguette on top of the eiffel tower

french fries on top of the eiffel tower

this is a desert called a paris brest... its kind of messy... and tasty... this pidgeon wanted it

I ate alot of cheese and baguettes... the camembert cheese was really good... and the goat cheese... yummy

Here's another egg salad baguette thing with fries, a fanta, and grey poupon... it seemed like they ate grey poupon with everything over there... I even asked a waiter if he happened to have any grey poupon, but he didn't understand me... I geuss its called something else there

for some reason being in Europe makes me want to drink Fanta... maybe its because its advertised on every block... anyway, I couldn't get enough of it

creme brulee'... mmm... cremy

a cheese baguette sandwich... and some wine

chocolate mouse and some cookie stick thing... this was really good... and more wine

french chocolate banana ice cream at the rodin museum

I thought this was a funny thing to see in Paris... Indiana Tex Mex... I didn't eat there... this is a good example of how everybody in Paris sits at these outdoor cafes... most people would sit there for 3 or 4 hours just smoking and drinking... alot of people smoke in Paris
